The fact is, many high-achieving women entrepreneurs are burning the candle at both ends. They are successful by the typical standard - but they are working their you know what’s off and are exhausted, stressed and hating the lack of “flow” in their lives.
It’s no way to live.
Because let’s face it - us entrepreneurs got into business because we have big dreams of creating an extraordinary life. Not a soul-sucking prison. Not something we dread.

Tune Into Your Thoughts
Your thoughts literally create your reality. Every single thing you think, say and feel has an impact on you. Have you ever met someone who is always down on their luck? Do they come off as positive people who believe their future is bright?
The fact is your inner dialogue plays a much bigger role in your life then you realize. By tuning into to them, you can recognize limiting beliefs that are holding you back and/or causing you pain. From their you can finally release those old beliefs that are no longer serving you and replace them with a new, more empowering system that supports you in your journey.
Live In Gratitude
Gratitude is all the rage these days. And for good reason. Expressing gratitude regularly is proven to create a more positive emotional state while protecting from negative destructive emotions like jealousy, resentment and greed. Positive emotions are incredibly powerful and have the ability to help us improve our health, live longer, improve our relationships, boost productivity and promote resiliency.
For the best results, work on feeling the gratitude instead of just practicing gratitude. The idea is to be in gratitude throughout your day. It’s not just a task to be crossed off your list. It’s a way to live.

A grounding practice is something you can use daily to ground your energy and protect you from getting pulled out of alignment when you are faced with stressors. In my experience, women tend to be more on the empathetic side which means we often pick up others energy. That can lead to feeling “zapped” when facing negative or emotionally suffering people and situations. A grounding practice is the key to rebounding from those encounters quickly and with grace so you can maintain a positive and motivating energy state throughout your day. Things like meditation, tai chi, qigong, yoga and mindfulness exercises are all great ways to regain energetic control and step back into a flow state.
Nourish Your Mind + Body
What? What does nourishment have to do with success? Ummmm, A LOT! What you feed your body and mind will determine how you ultimately feel. Remember, everything in life is energy, that includes your food. Consuming nutrient dense, real whole foods will ensure your diet is of a higher frequency and supporting you in your journey to being your best version. I personally consider food to be my main medicine. I feel great when I nourish myself and it spills over into all the other areas of my life.
Get Into The Groove
Did you know that music is one of the most powerful ways to change your emotional state? It’s true. Everyone has a few songs that when they hear it playing it instantly puts them into a good mood. No matter the circumstances leading up to that moment, the right music can shift a stressed or negative mood into a feel good mood with a single beat.
To use the power of music to help raise your frequency, create a playlist with songs that put a smile on your face and a tap in your foot. I recommend you listen to your playlist everyday, as soon as possible to “get into your groove.” When something happens in your day that stirs up anger or frustration, take a couple of minutes to play a song and breathe. You will be amazed at how effectively this can be at squashing a bad mood and shifting you into a state of peace and enjoyment. Give it a try!
Do What Brings You Joy
I’m sure this one sounds really obvious. But, let me ask you….do you regularly take time to do something that brings you joy? My guess is probably not. That’s because in today’s hustle and bustle world, it’s all about performance and productivity. It’s hard to take a step back from the to do list and switch gears to something that seems out of line with accomplishing your goals. But here’s the thing, what if having more fun was the key to creating what you want?
Hear me out. You got into business to create certain feelings, right? You probably associate success with fulfillment, fun, joy, freedom, significance. If so, I have great news! You have the power to create those feelings right now. All you have to do is identify the actions that bring you those feelings and you are good to go.
Grab a pen and paper and jot down everything you can think of that you love doing. It does not have to be related to business. Here’s my top 5:
- Going to the farmers market
- Being in nature
- Connecting with friends
- Yoga, Barre, walking, hiking
Once you have a list of things you know you love to do…..DO THEM...and often. Try to do something each day from the list. There is no hard and fast rule, the point is to have more fun. In doing so, you will shift your emotional state to that of happiness and enjoyment.
